Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Habitat for Humanity of Broward seeks volunteers with skills as well as compassion. Some of our volunteers are skilled carpenters, while others just have good hearts and willing hands. The common thread is the desire to give back to the community. By donating your time, you can make a difference in the lives of families in need throughout Broward County!
According to federal law, all construction volunteers must be age 16 or older. No one under the age of 16 will be permitted on the construction site for safety and liability reasons. Volunteers ages 16 - 17 must keep their feet on the ground at all times. There are no restrictions for volunteers age 18 and up.
Individual Volunteers - Weekdays & Saturdays
Volunteers can check out our upcoming builds and sign up for projects using our calendar located at http://broward.toolsfororgs.com/sys-php/hfh/sched/view.php. Volunteer projects are added to the calendar the last week of the month for the upcoming month. Additional projects may be added on Tuesday of each week as volunteer needs for the week are finalized. All volunteers must register and complete an online orientation before they can sign up.
Weekday volunteers: After signing up, please call the site supervisor (of the location you registered to work at) between the hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm to get information on the specific task(s) for the day.

Saturday volunteers: After signing up, final details, including site location and tasks, will be sent via email the Tuesday before.

Groups
At this time we are only scheduling groups that are participating in a HabiTeam Day. To schedule a HabiTeam date or to be put on a group waitlist, please complete a group application form or contact Maureen Hodgson, Development Director at (954) 396-3030, Ext. 211 or maureen@habitatbroward.org.
Volunteer Opportunities at the Habitat Re-Store

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Saturday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Volunteers are always welcome - and not just on the jobsite building homes. Re-Store volunteers are responsible for answering phones and scheduling the pick up of donation. Other tasks include pricing donated items, stocking shelves and assisting customers.
Volunteers ages 14 and older are invited to assist at the Re-Store. They are welcome anytime during business hours for as much time as they can give.
